Poet. Born in the U.S. in 1941, Robert Hass is one of contemporary American poetry¡¯s most celebrated and widely read voices. His poetry is acclaimed for its clarity of expression, its consciousness, and its imagery. He has received numerous prizes, including the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. He served for two years as Poet Laureate of the United States and is a Distinguished Professor in English literature at the University of California, Berkeley. His books of poetry include Human Wishes(1989) and Sun Under Wood(1996). His latest work is A Little Book on Form: An Exploration Into the Formal Imagination of Poetry(2017).
